Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that navigating healthcare options can be confusing, cumbersome, and challenging, so we've compiled answers to some of the most common questions about our direct primary care services. Our goal is to provide clarity and help you make informed decisions about your healthcare. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a modern approach to healthcare designed with busy, health-conscious individuals like you in mind. With DPC, you pay a simple, flat monthly fee, giving you unlimited access to personalized, high-quality medical care. Your doctor can focus entirely on your health, offering same-day or next-day appointments, extended visits, and even follow up over the phone or virtually. This means more time spent on keeping you and your family healthy and less time dealing with the stress of traditional healthcare. DPC is all about convenience, personalized care, and peace of mind, ensuring you look and feel your best while prioritizing what matters most: your time and your family's well-being.
Does Elevated DPC accept health insurance?
No, we do not accept health insurance. This allows us to break free of unreasonable regulations placed on traditional fee for service practices that accept insurance. This way we can focus on you and not have your insurance dictate your care when seeing us.
Since you don't accept health insurance, will I still need to carry an insurance plan?
Yes. We encourage all our members to carry high deductible health insurance with a health savings account. This way you have coverage for unexpected or severe illness, for other physician specialists, or for hospitalizations.
What does my monthly membership include?
Your membership fee covers routine physicals, sick visits, follow up visits, management of your chronic illnesses, and more. Even more importantly, it gives you direct access to Dr. Mendoza. I am just a call, text, or email away!
Do you provide care for children?
Currently, at Elevated DPC, Dr. Mendoza is an internal medicine physician. This means we focus on adolescents and adults. We can care for children 15 years and older.
Do you prescribe opiate pain medications?
At Elevated DPC, we will work with you to find ways to ensure your pain is controlled. However, we do not prescribe long term opiate pain medications. If you are currently taking a long term opioid (such as hydrocodone, tramadol, oxycodone), we recommend you see a chronic pain specialist and we will work carefully with you to optimize your remaining healthcare needs.
